Christopher Preciado – Chairman of the Stonewall Democratic Club of Southern Nevada. As the newly elected chair of the organization, Christopher looks forward to advancing the rights of all sectors of our community – from marriage equality for all families to transgender inclusivity. Chris has been a resident of Las Vegas since he was 5 years old and began his first foray into political organizing in the 2008 elections as a freshman in high school.
2010 was when Chris realized the power that comes when coalitions are formed. After school ended, Chris marched from the Las Vegas Academy to the federal courthouse in favor of the DREAM Act & the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell with student activists & community leaders.
2012 was a landmark year – Chris ran for both Executive Board Member at Large to the Nevada State Democratic Party and National Delegate to the 2012 Democratic National Convention – both of which he won and made history by becoming the youngest elected member at the age of 19.
Later on that year Chris was recognized as an emerging LGBT leader by the White House and received an invitation to the Vice President’s residence which included a tour and policy briefing in the White House.
Chris has always enjoyed showcasing his accomplishments through a creative fashion. With an early start in photography and graphic design, Chris has advanced his skills over the years and built a reputation around Nevada political circles for capturing some of the most memorable moments of past (and current!) election cycles.
